BRU Burger Bar Revisited

When Josh and I reviewed Bru Burger Bar back in February 2025, Josh summarized our overall experience this way:

Bru Burger Bar presents itself as a love letter to the American burger, but it makes a mean patty melt as well. We would recommend you give it a try.

I thought it was time to take our own advice and give the Bru Burger Bar Patty Melt another try. The opportunity arrived when my mother-in-law, Grace Hammesfahr, and sister-in-law, Gail Nestlerode, were in town for a visit. Mom could not remember ever having a patty melt and Gail’s experience was limited to less-than-authentic imitations of the real deal.

All three of us were delighted with our patty melts as well as with our overall experience. Absent Josh’s keen insight to tease out the nuances of our experience, I’m unable to render an official score for our revisit. However, unofficially, based on this revisit, I would boost our score for taste and ambiance from 4 stars to 5 stars.
