Restaurant Name: Logan Blomberg's Grill
By Invitation Only

About: Our friend, Logan Blomberg, invited us over to his house for dinner, where in honor of our Patty Melt Quest, he would make us homemade patty melts. This was a fine offer, so we accepted his invitation and were treated to a very special Patty Melt Quest.
Authenticity: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️★
Logan's patty melt had Swiss cheese and grilled onions, served on Hawaiian sweet bread as a substitute for rye. Very close to perfect authenticity, and the substitution's effect was subtle.
Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️★
For a homemade patty melt, it was surprisingly good. The Hawaiian sweet bread was complimentary to the flavor profile, the onions were grilled just right, and the beef patty was very well cooked. It wasn't restaurant quality, but the fact that Logan made something this tasty on his first attempt must be commended. It should be noted that restaurant quality beef patties aren't widely available to consumers.
Value: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Logan is the first to receive the coveted six stars for value, as his patty melts were completely free and included chips. Free food is not something that we will turn down.
Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The ambiance was quite good. We ate on Logan's back porch in the shade with his roommate Austin, giving us a nice view of a tranquil lake and good company. Even after the patty melts were consumed, we still had a nice conversation accompanied by a treat from My Sugar Pie.
Total Experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️★
The entire experience was delightful, and Logan was a very gracious host. The only thing that detracted from the experience was Logan's learning curve on the doneness of the bread- the first one's being on the too well-done side.
Summary: Logan's patty melts may not have been the best ones we have ever had, but they were well above average, and for his first attempts they turned out better than expected. But the main reason to go to Logan's is for his hospitality, and we enjoyed that more than the patty melts (if that's even possible).
Leadership Lessons: The leadership lesson I draw from this special Quest is the virtue of hospitality. Whether your intent is building a business or building a relationship, hospitality is key. At the core of hospitality is empathy – considering your guests' individual tastes and preferences and demonstrating genuine care and concern. Logan was alert to our choice of beverages at our previous Quests and was ready with our favorites. He made us feel at home and well-cared for. At dinner, we felt seen and heard, with no attempt to show of or draw attention to himself. The Bible encourages us to show hospitality to others -- whether they are friends, family, or strangers -- as a way to serve and honor God. Logan provided us a good example.
