Authenticity: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rye bread and Swiss cheese, about as true to the patty melt tradition as you can get. Thousand Island dressing is offered on the side.
Taste: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Incredibly good. The bread was toasted just right to hold the patty, the patty was flavorful, and the cheese melted easily. The onions were also grilled to perfection.
Value: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️★
The price was $16 for the patty melt, as well as a side of french fries, potato chips, or cottage cheese. The price was a good value for the experience, but not a bargain.
Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️★
Quite good. We liked how everything was laid out and relaxed. We particularly appreciated the racing decor and the artwork.
Total Experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The service was great, and our server was pleasant. In addition, all of these elements combined to create a great start to our quest.
Summary: The service was excellent, the patty melt was succulent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. So far, the next few places that we are going to visit are going to need to step up their game, because the LA Cafe has set a very high standard to follow.
Leadership Lessons: Today's Leadership Lesson can be summed up in one word: Resiliency. It was a bitter cold, snowy day but the dining room was fully staffed, the food was excellent as usual, and any challenges related to the inclement weather were dealt with gracefully.
